The first project involved the £2 million refurbishment of existing ENWL office accommodation and stores at Whitebirk to provide high quality office space with the addition of a first floor. The contract was awarded to Sustainability Inc.
In conjunction with this, the industrial yard where the MDR building is located was also refurbished to provide a much cleaner and appropriate working yard. The area was resurfaced and key spaces re-designed to allow better use by operatives, and additional parking was also provided. The completion of these two contracts has given a much more modern and professional appearance to the working environment at Whitebirk.
Both schemes have offered significant challenges as the yard was fully operational 24-7 during the period the works were undertaken. However with good communication, co-operation and management minimal disruption occurred and the finished product has received extremely positive reviews from both the client and the building users
