Here at Green PM we are feeling very smug at the moment as we have just been reassessed for our ISO 14001 and 9001 for the fifth consecutive year.
Not only that, we put ourselves forward for the new ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety which we were also awarded!
Launched on 12 March, the long-awaited standard – full name ‘ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use’ – replaces OHSAS 18001 and sets out what organisations need to do to create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all.
MD Jonathan Greenhalgh said he was very proud to have achieved the award so soon and also said,
‘Health and Safety is so important to our business that we wanted to demonstrate to our clients just how seriously we take it. Effectively managing for health and safety is not just about having a safety management system. The success of whatever process or system is in place still hinges on the attitudes and behaviours of people in the organisation.
Focusing too much on the formal documentation of a health and safety management system will distract you from addressing the human elements of its implementation – something that we all need to improve in our industry.’
