Congratulations to Rachel after not only completing the OMM, but coming in as 1st female pair on the B course.
The OMM is a two day self-supported event where teams of two navigate to designated checkpoints across mountainous terrain whilst carrying their kit for two days. The B course covers 25 kilometres on day one with approximately 1100 meters of ascent and 20 kilometres on day two with approximately 900 metres of ascent. Teams have to decide their route between points dependent on the terrain and their individual strengths. This year the event was held in the Clyde MuirShiel Regional Park which has stunning vistas of the great Lochs and snowy peaks of Arran, but the terrain was tough and teams had to battle up pathless, boggy, heather clad coastal hills. Rachel said 'the event was fantastic and a great challenge. The OMM promotes such a good atmosphere throughout the course and woke us up with bagpipes on Sunday morning!'
